Ho-Asogli is led by percussion specialist John Flood

Professor John Flood earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Music Performance and a Master of Arts at the University of California, San Diego. Currently he is the Director of Percussion at the School of Music and Dance at San Diego State University. Flood's first visit to Ghana was in 1993 as a guest of the National Theatre of Ghana in Accra. In August 1998, he completed extensive fieldwork in Ghana working with Kwame Degbor in the Volta Region, Baffour Darko in the Asante Region, and with Dr. Komla Amoaku at the National Theatre of Ghana. Flood traveled with Kwame Degbor in the Volta Region in January 2000 and directed 3-week summer programs in Ghana and Togo for SDSU faculty and students in 2000 and 2001. In 2002, he led a team back to Ghana to document the nine day funeral of the Paramount chief of Ho, Togbe Afede Asor II.
