John Flood - Director

As director of Ho-Asogli, John took over the group from Dr. Komla Amoaku, former director of the National Theatre of Ghana in 1994. John has been travelling to Ghana since 1993, doing extensive research in the Volta Region as well as leading summer workshop programs. He is Director of Percussion at San Diego State University, where he leads the percussion group, Dirty Laundry.

Kathie Zaccaria - Co-Director

Kathie joined Ho-Asogli in 1998 and shortly thereafter made her first two trips to Ghana in 2000. She was part of the documentary crew (along with John Flood) in 2003 for the funeral of Togbe Afede Asor II, Paramount Chief of Ho, Ghana. Kathie also serves as booking manager for the group and handles the group's publicity and web site.

Kwame Degbor - Artistic Director

Kwame achieved national stature in his native Ghana during a thirty-five year career in teaching, performing and cultural programs administration, rising to Deputy Director of Administration for the Centre for National Culture. Kwame came to the Center for World Music in San Diego in 2004 to teach African music and dance at elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as master classes at colleges and universities through out San Diego.

Stephanie Lomax - Secretary

Stephanie joined Ho-Asogli in the fall of 2006 after the group had performed with her students at the high school in which she taught. Stephanie is currently a music teacher for the Del Mar Union School district at Sycamore Ridge where she teaches instrumental and vocal music. She also serves as the group’s secretary.
